Dave Tandy and Norton Hinkley, founded the Hinkley-Tandy Leather Co. in 1927. In 1961 became Tandy Corp and in 1962 Charles Tandy, son of the founder, decided to enter the consumer electronic market. He acquired the control of Radio Shack. In 1977 Tandy starts to sold his low cost personal computer TRS-80 via the Radio Shack stores. In 1993 will be acquired by AST Research.
